Notification on Hindu migrants flayed

GUWAHATI, Sept 25 - The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Bhasik Sangkhalaghu Parishad, in its meeting held at the Ambari headquarters of the regional party, condemned the notification issued by the Central Government on granting entry and stay rights to the non-Muslim migrants entering the Indian territory in Assam till December 31, 2014.

The meeting reiterated the demand of the State�s people that no migrant entering the State after March 25, 1971 should be allowed to stay in the State.

The Central Government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued the above notification motivated by a communal approach, it said.

The Parishad, in its meeting, presided over by Parishad president Nanda Banerjee, also resolved to remain vigilant against any attempt at harassing the Bengali Hindu people, who have entered the State prior to March 25, 1971.

The meeting was also addressed by AGP Legislature Party Leader Phani Bhusan Choudhury, AGP general secretary Ramendra Narayan Kalita, spokespersons Lachit Bardoloi and Satyabrata Kalita, among others.
