Noted educationist felicitated

MORIGAON, April 11 - �Sabdakalpa�� a literary organization of Morigaon district organised a public felicitation programme on April 10 for 82 year-old educationist, author Birinchidhar Buragohain.

Buragohain, a retired Professor in the Philosophy department of Morigaon College has completed 81 years of age. He has written seven books. An Honours Graduate in Philosophy in 1958 from Cotton College, he started his career as a teacher at Morigaon HS School and took his MA from Gauhati University in 1966.

The felicitation meeting held on the occasion was attended by his the then colleague Narendra Nath Keot, former Principal, Morigaon College, Mahendra Ahom, former Registrar, Tezpur University, Mileswar Pator, former president, Morigaon Zila Sahitya Sabha, Bubumoni Goswami, president, Morigaon Zila Sahitya Sabha. Speaking on the occasion, Narendra Nath Keot said Buragohain is a self-made personality who did a lot in the field of literature. He had good command over the ancient and modern philosophy of India.

Addressing the gathering, Mahendra Ahom, former Registrar, Tezpur University said that Buragohain, an educationist was a notable many social worker also. The young people must follow the path of �sadhana� shown by Buragohain. In the meeting, Bubumoni Goswami, president, Morigaon Zila Sahitya Sabha, Pradip Parasar, secretary, Jnan Manjuri, Bani Boruah, retired Professor, Birinchi Kumar Sarma, president, Morigaon Press Club also spoke and narrated the contributions of Birinchidhar Buragohain to the society of Morigaon. Speaking on the occasion, Birinchidhar Buragohain extended his gratitude to the organisations who felicitated him on his 82nd birthday. The meeting requested the family of Buragohain to publish all his literary works.
