Not much progress in Tripura during Cong, CPM regimes

By Correspondent

AGARTALA, April 25 - Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, PP Choudhary today said that Tripura has not made much progress on the development path during the past few decades.

Even Agartala city has experienced very little development during the long regimes of both Congress and CPI(M), he told the media at BJP headquarters here on Tuesday.

But Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned five National Highways projects. Works are in progress in four sanctioned projects, he said.

Choudhury, who is on a visit to the State to inaugurate the newly-built Software Technology Park here, said the Prime Minister had set a target to bring Agartala into the countrys BG railway map in two years. Two months before the target date, Agartala has got BG train facility. It shows Modijis commitment and dedication toward the all-round development of Tripura, he said.

Choudhary went on, Modi Government has already included Agartala in the list of Smart City project. It means Rs 500 crore will be invested in Agartala city development in the years to come. It will also generate a lot of employment opportunity locally.

Scuttling the deprivation charge against the Centre, the Union Minister said the Modi Government has done enough during the past three years for the State. I am in doubt if money coming from Delhi is reaching the person standing last in the queue.

Choudhary added, there is a strong undercurrent in favour of BJP in the Marxist bastion. We are hopeful of a sweeping victory in the 2018 Assembly elections to remove the Marxist regime in Tripura.
