North East Cancer Hospital observes 9th anniversary

JORABAT, Aug 19 - The North East Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (NECHRI) celebrated its 9th anniversary today. It was established in 2008.

The doctors, nurses and other employees of NECHRI celebrated the day in an austere manner due to the sudden demise of Minati Lahkar of Ulubari, who was closely associated with the cancer hospital.

The hospital�s Managing Director Dr MN Baruah in his speech said that after installation of PET-CT Scan machine and the High-end Brachytherapy equipment, NECHRI has become the only cancer hospital in the North East having all facilities for cancer treatment under one roof. He thanked all the doctors of North East India and the patients for supporting him in the noble cause.

NECHRI managing trustee Kandarpa Saikia thanked all the employees who donated blood to mark the occasion.

Taanishi Inam, member board of directors distributed fruits among the cancer patients, while Dr DK Nath lighted the inaugural lamp.

Bulbul Chetia, OSD of NECHRI highlighted the success story of the hospital and said that NECHRI has emerged as the most comprehensive and leading cancer hospital in North East India.
