GUWAHATI, Feb 27 � The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library has nominated IIT Guwahati�s associate professor Arupjyoti Saikia for the 2009-2014 Srikant Dutta Book Award for his book A Century of Protests: Peasant Politics in Assam since 1900, published by Routledge, in 2014. Together with Saikia, University of Texas professor Indrani Chatterjee has also been nominated for the award for her book Forgotten Friends: Monks Marriages and Memories Northeast India published by the Oxford Press in 2013. The award consists of a cash amount of Rs 50,000 and a citation, said a press release.
