Noble effort by a KV teacher

GUWAHATI, Feb 25 � A teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Indian Oil Corporation (ICC), Noonmati has excelled in the service of helping poor children develop their skills.

KV (IOC) Noonmati principal Odil Sushila Minz said the teacher Champa Singha, in her personal capacity, had volunteered to serve the poor children in a local Women Development Centre by organising different activities for them.

Among the activities taught to the children in the evening after the school sessions are music, action, songs fun activities and basic levels of mathematics and languages.

�The main aim is to keep them occupied together and away from the streets helping them to struggle with learning difficulties and providing certain basic things as notebooks, pencils and colours�, Singha said.

�This is our way to enlightening people�s life with education and making a real contribution to the society�, she said.

Complimenting the teacher for her noble act, the principal said this was one of the reasons for Kendriya Vidalayas being known throughout the country as centers of excellence in the field of eduction. � PTI
