No virus death in Tripura for last three days

AGARTALA, Dec 19 - Tripura recorded no COVID-19 death for the third consecutive day today. The State has registered 375 virus deaths so far, while the cured cases stand at 32,478. The current fatality rate is 1.13 per cent.

Twenty-one per cent of the total 1,648 samples tested during the last 24 hours, tested positive for COVID-19. On the other hand, 30 patients recovered from the infection during the same period.

While the positivity rate is 5.89 per cent, the recovery rate has climbed to 98.13 per cent, indicating that the pandemic has been largely contained in the State. As of now, only 240 patients are undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, Tripura is gearing up to launch the COVID-19 vaccination programme in all districts. A district-level workshop on the ensuing vaccination programme was held at Kailashahar today. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Unakoti district Dr Sharadhindu Reang delivered the keynote address on the vaccination drive and preparations for it. The medical superintendent of Unakoti district and other medical officers and staff attended the workshop. A draft plan for COVID-19 immunization was adopted in the workshop.
