TEZPUR, July 20 - At a time when most of the municipality boards across the State are under the BJPs control, the Tezpur Municipality board, which is also dominated by the party, has become unstable. Ten members of the board on Monday raised a no-confidence motion against the president and the vice-president of the body.
It is to be mentioned here that the Tezpur Municipal Board (TMB) was formed with a total of 19 members. Of the total members, 11 were from the BJP, five from the Congress and two from the AGP, while the remaining one was elected as an Independent.
However, since the very beginning, it was noticed that the civic body had failed in carrying out developmental works of the historic city as the members could not agree on any issue at all. Ten of the dissatisfied members, holding the president and the vice-president responsible for the sorry state of affairs, raised a no-confidence motion against them.
Further, development regarding the issue is awaited as no decision could be taken to resolve the issue.
