NILAMBAZAR, Sept 30 - The no-confidence motion against Karimganj Zilla Parishad president Najrana Begum was automatically cancelled due to the absence of all Zilla Parishad members in the special meeting held on Tuesday. The Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj convened the special meeting on no-confidence as per the Assam Panchayet Raj Act 1995.
It may be mentioned here that 10 Congress-nominated Zilla Parishad members, along with an Independent and a BJP-nominated member, out of 20 had raised the said no-confidence motion against Begum on Wednesday.
