No truck with Congress, says Ajmal

NALBARI, Jan 28 � All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) president Badaruddin Ajmal said that his party has no plan to have poll alliance with the Congress for the ensuing Assembly poll proposed to be held in the month of April.

The AIUDF chief who addressed a series of meetings near Mukalmua in Nalbari district, added that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had himself called him for an alliance with the Congress. �We are totally against the Congress and will fight for a non-Congress Government in the State,� Ajmal added.

Talking to the reporters on the sideline of the meeting, the AIUDF president further stated that the party will contest in 74 Assembly segments and expects to win at least 30 seats. He said that the people of Assam want a political change as the Congress Government is mired in massive corruptions in all fronts. The Government, in the name of distributing rice at Rs 6, per kg, mosquito net, blanket, siphoned of lakhs of rupees meant for the development of poorer section.
