AIZAWL, Nov 25 - Emphasising BJP as a party that believed in secularism, Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has said communalism or religious fanaticism has no room under NDA Government and ban on cow slaughter or beef eating is totally dependent on the State Government. The Union Minister clarified that the Central Government has no interference in this issue.

The Union Minister arrived here on Monday to campaign for the coming Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) polls. He urged the people to vote for National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for sustainable development in the jurisdiction of AMC and LADC.

Addressing a press meet shortly after his arrival, Dr Singh promised to fulfil NDAs manifesto if the party candidates were voted to power in the AMC and LADC polls. He said that speedy measures would be taken under Smart City project to make Aizawl a clean and smart city and added that the State capital will be declared as City of Churches if NDA was voted to power.

Dr Singh accused Congress of misusing the Food Security Act to attract membership. He said that the FSA which is an initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims at providing rice to people at subsidised rate and it should cover every one.
