NEW DELHI, March 1 � The Commerce and Industry Minister has clarified that it has no objection to opening of Maheshkhola Land Custom Station for import and export from Bangladesh.�
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has informed Minister of State for Rural Development Agatha Sangma that in keeping with the recommendations of the Meghalaya Government, it has no objection to opening of Maheshkhola LCS in Meghalaya on the Indo-Bangladesh border. The Department of Revenue has been asked to assess if the existing infrastructure would enable functions of the LCS.
