NEW DELHI, March 22 - The Centre today contradicted the State Government when it clarified that no decision has been taken to shift the headquarters of the Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited.

Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Anant G Geete replying to questions in Rajya Sabha said that according to information received from the Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited (HPC), no final decision in this regard has been taken.

As reported, Assam Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary had a couple of months back held a press conference to announce that a proposal has been cleared to shift the headquarters of HPC and it would be housed in IWT Towers in Guwahati.
