No effective opposition to match Modi�s leadership: Sonowal

SILCHAR, Dec 23 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s clear vision, principle and astute leadership has brushed aside effective opposition which could match him or the Bharatiya Janata Party in terms of governance today.

Addressing the executive members at the State executive meeting in Karimganj, Sonowal said, �Ever since he was blessed with the trust of the people in 2014, Prime Minister Modi has devoted his time for serving the nation with a clear vision, principle and bold leadership. His ways of governance has literally sidelined effective opposition in the country today which could match his enthusiasm and will to work for the country. The opposition parties including the Congress and others in the country have been left hapless.�

Referring to a speech by the Prime Minister on neeti aur ranneeti, the Chief Minister urged the party members to work together as �a party with a difference.�

�We are committed in making Assam corruption-free, terrorism-free, pollution-free and a State free from illegal migrants forging ahead en route to development,� the Chief Minister maintained.

He thanked BJP State president Ranjit Kumar Dass to organise such an executive meet at Karimganj and expressed his gratitude towards people of the border town for their warm reception.

The Chief Minister also urged the people to use social media to glorify the rich cultural heritage and temples of Barak Valley and spread information of the important locations of the valley to attract people from rest parts of the State, from across the country and even abroad to visit southern Assam.

Earlier, the proceedings of the State executive meet began with the hoisting of the flag. BJP State president Ranjit Kumar Dass urged the members to work towards materialising the mission 100 plus seats in the forthcoming 2021 Assembly election. He added to say that BJP has a glorious history in Barak Valley with as many as nine MLAs being elected to the Assembly way back during the 90s.
