No addition to Nagaland tally

DIMAPUR, June 18 - Nagaland Principal Secretary (Home) Abhijit Sinha today said that no positive case of COVID-19 was recorded in the State on Thursday.

In a routine briefing on the COVID-19 situation in Nagaland, Sinha said that the total positive cases stood at 193 as on Wednesday. Out of them, 84 are active cases, while 109 patients have already recovered, he said.

All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 84 active cases are asymptomatic.

Of the 193 positive cases, 124 are males and 69 are females. Four of them are in the age group of 0 to 17 years, 182 cases between 18 and 44 years, five cases between 45 and 64 years and two cases are between 65 and 74 years, he said.

Sinha said altogether 7,670 samples have been sent for testing till date. The results of 6,692 samples have been received, while results of 978 samples are still awaited.

Out of the 7,670 samples, 5,010 samples were sent to the BSL-3 laboratory at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima for testing. The results of 4,169 samples have been received from the laboratory, out of which 137 samples had tested positive.

He said 7,969 persons are presently under facility quarantine and 1,709 persons are under home quarantine in the State.
