NN Singha memorial I-D girls football begins

GUWAHATI, Aug 24 - The Nripendra Narayan Singha Memorial U-17 Girls Inter District Football Championship got underway at the SAI Complex here today.

The championship was formally inaugurated by vice chairman of the Sports Authority of Assam Queen Ojha in the presence of Director of Sports Pabitra Ram Khound and SAI Director Subhash Basumatary. Altogether 24 schools, representing their respective districts are taking part in the knock-out championship.

The matches will also be played at the Nehru Stadium and Royal Global School grounds. The winning team of the tournament will represent Assam in the Subroto Cup to be held in New Delhi.

Today�s results: Nagaon bt Golaghat 3-0, Chirang bt Dima Hasao 7-0, Nalbari bt Sivasagar 4-1, Charaideo bt Darrang 2-1, Cachar bt Dhemaji 9-0, Baksa bt Lakhimpur 6-1, Hailakandi bt Kamrup (M) 7-1, Barpeta bt Dhubri 4-1, Morigaon bt Karbi Anglong 6-0.
