NL women�s body pays tribute to Pulwama martyrs

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Feb 18 - Ashroy Mahila Samaj, a woman NGO from North Lakhimpur, organised a tribute-paying programme here on Saturday evening in memory of martyred CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir�s Pulwama district in a suicide terror attack. The women�s body organised a candle-lit sitting on the main traffic intersection of North Lakhimpur town where senior citizens, students, youth leaders, businessmen and common citizens offered floral tributes to all the jawans killed in that suicide terror attack.

Ashroy Mahila Samaj led by its president Asfiya Hussain Chawdhury and secretary Tajwar Sultana Talukdar also observed a minute�s silence for the departed souls in the function. Media Adviser of the NGO Farhana Ahmed and its treasurer Anwara Begum spoke on the occasion. Paying glowing tributes to the martyrs, Raju Singha, a leader of MASS, Lakhimpur, said that innocent persons should not be killed and human rights had to be protected while conducting counter-insurgency operations. The tribute-paying programme ended with a firm resolution condemning terrorism and violence in all forms.
