Nitin clinches double crown in ITF meet, doubles title for Tanisha

GUWAHATI, Nov 25 - Shattering top seed Parikshit Somani�s dream of clinching double crown, second seed Nitin Kumar Sinha of India clinched double crown winning both singles and doubles events in the ITF Juniors World Ranking Tennis Tournament which concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association complex, Chachal here today.

In the keenly contested singles final Nitin defeated Assam boy in straight sets 6-3,7-5 while in the doubles top seed duo Nitin Sinha and Aditya Vashistha earned a facile 6-3, 6-2 victory against second seed Parikshit Somani and Kabir Manrai.

In the girls� singles final top seed Eunhye Lee of South Korea registered a convincing 6-2, 6-2 straight set victory against Vaidehi Choudhury of India.

However, Assam girl Tanisha Kashyap, pairing with Indian player Sravya Shivani Chilakalapudi (top seed) managed to win the girls� doubled title defeating Maria Krupenina (RUS) and Shrivalli Rashmika Bhamidipaty (IND) 6-4, 6-4. In the prize distribution ceremony AATA officials Ankush Dutta and Digantajyoti Gogoi gave away the prizes.

Final results: (Boys U-18 singles) 2nd seed Nitin Kumar Sinha bt top seed Parikshit Somani 6-3, 7-5. (Girls U-18 singles) Top seed Eunhye Lee (KOR) bt 4th seed Vaidehi Choudhury (IND) 6-2, 6-2. (Boys U-18 doubles) Top seed Nitin Sinha/Aditya Vashistha bt 2nd seed Parikshit Somani/Kabir Manrai 6-3, 6-2. (Girls U-18 doubles) 4th seed Tanisha Kashyap/Sravya Shivani Chilakalapudi bt top seed Maria Krupenina (RUS)/Shrivalli Rashmika Bhamidipaty (IND) 6-4, 6-4.
