KAJALGAON, Nov 25 � Curfew during the night continued for the second consecutive day in Bijni sub-division, but no untoward incident was reported in the last 24 hours, reports PTI.
According to officials, the District Magistrate decided to continue with the 12-hour-long curfew from 6pm to 6am to avert any possible disturbance.
Curfew was clamped for 12 hours last night in Bijni sub-division after a mob attacked a police outpost, after a businessman was kidnapped by suspected NDFB(S) militants.
Angry locals had protested and attacked the Ballamguri Police Outpost and burnt a house nearby alleging failure in protecting the youth.
The police lathicharged and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the mob.
