NIA chief visits Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 8 � Director General of National Investigation Agency (NIA) Sharad Kumar today visited Kokrajhar to review the investigation into the cases relating to killing of more than 30 innocent people in the district by NDFB(S) on December 23. He visited the places of occurrence Lungsung and Ultapani in the district.

The DG was accompanied by Inspector General of NIA GP Singh, Inspector General of Police BTAD LR Bisnoi and Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar amongst others. Sharad Kumar also visited the Salabari relief camp and met and interacted with the affected people, besides assuring them of proper justice.

The NIA chief also held talks with top police officials of the district. It may be mentioned that the NIA is investigating two cases of massacre by the Sonbijit faction of NDFB(S) in Kokrajhar district (Kokrajhar Police Station Case No- 557/2014, and 558/2014).
