NHPC felicitation for Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Nov 10 - The National Hydroelectrical Power Corporation (NHPC) has felicitated school representatives for achieving targets for cleanliness drive in the State. The felicitations were made on the occasion of 41st raising day of the PSU at Gerukamukh on November 7 where Subansiri Lower Hydro Electrical project is on.

Management committees of 1,300 schools from across the State comprising 3000 members attended the function to celebrate the success of Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan. Under this national mission, NHPC constructed 3,129 toilets in more than 2,703 schools across 11 districts of Assam and two districts of Arunachal Pradesh improving the hygienic standards of about 2 lakh students.

Certificates of appreciation commending the efforts of the school management committees were presented on behalf of NHPC by Rakesh, Executive Director, SLHEP to all the schools during the programme. Visit to project sites was also arranged for interested participants to give them a first-hand experience of the project activities of the NHPC. A cultural programme was also presented during the programme, which was also attended by the project employees of SLHEP.
