TURA, July 3 - The Anti-Corruption and Human Development Organisation (ACHDO), an NGO, has condemned the incident of shooting at a minor by a group of motorcycle-borne miscreants in a failed kidnapping attempt.
The incident took place at Chibinang under the Phulbari PS in West Garo Hills last night when Shahalom Akond, a shopkeeper, was on his way home along with his son. They were waylaid by masked men who came on a bike.
When Akond resisted the abduction bid, the miscreants shot at the boy�s leg and fled towards Chandisilla. The injured minor has been shifted to Goalpara for treatment, said the president of ACHDO, Ishraful Hoque.
The NGO demanded security in the Chibinang area and stated that a police outpost should be set up to check such criminal acts in future.
