DIMAPUR, June 30 The Indigenous Women Forum of North East India (IWFNEI) has fervently appealed to the Karbi Peoples Liberation Tigers (KPLT) to release the remaining seven workers, including two Nagas, of Longnit Mini Hydro Project who were abducted on June 10.

The two Nagas among those abducted have been identified but the identity of the remaining five is yet to be ascertained, but all of them in all probabilities were mere innocent workers, an appeal from IWFNEI convenors Khesheli Chishi and Seema Ronghapi stated.

While denouncing any act of violence and violation of human rights of any fellow human beings by both State and non-State actors, IWFNEI raised serious concern over the fact that almost every armed groups or forces operating in North East, whether it is the State Police forces, Indian military personnel or the various armed revolutionary groups, have the tendency to target innocent and unarmed civilians to make their points.
