NFRSA champs in Servo cricket

GUWAHATI, Feb 28 - Riding on an all round show by Man-of-the-Match Neeraj Tiwari, NF Railway Sports Association annexed the Servo 24th Guwahati Challenge Cricket Tournament defeating Maharana Athletic Club by 26 runs.

In the final played at the Judges� Field here today, NFRSA, being asked to bat first, were all out for 164 in 33 overs. Neeraj Tiwari (43), Karan Sarma (26) and Ranjit Mali (19) were their leading scorers.

The Maharana boys failed to chase the challenging target and finally were skittled out for 138 in 33.5 overs. Parthajit Baishya was their top run getter with 37. The championship was organised by the River Rine Club in memory of Bhabendra Chandra Pathak.

Brief scores: NFR 164 (Neeraj Tiwari 43, Karan Sarma 26, Ranjit Mali 19; Prasanta Baruah 4/27, Roshan Alam 3/38, Jogesh Bhomij 2/40). Maharana AC 138 (Parthajit Baishya 37, Bikash Chetri 19; Sarupam Purkayastha 4/24, Akash Chetri 3/32, Neeraj Tiwari 2/26).
