NFR to introduce 3 spl weekly trains

GUWAHATI, Oct 28 - In response to widespread demand from general public, Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to introduce three weekly special trains in the Guwahati-Silchar, Guwahati-Agartala and Dibrugarh-Agartala sections.

Each special train will run for four months, said NFR Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Pranav Jyoti Sharma.

The 05611 Guwahati-Silchar weekly special will leave from Guwahati every Friday at 9:30 pm and arrive at Silchar at 9 am on Saturdays. During return journey, special train No. 05612 will leave from Silchar every Saturday at 8:50 pm and arrive at Guwahati at 9:05 am on Sundays. Services of this train from Guwahati will start from November 18 and from Silchar on November 19.

Sharma said that the 05651 Guwahati-Agartala weekly special train will leave from Guwahati every Saturday at 4:45 pm to reach Agartala at 10:45 am on Sundays. During return journey, special train No. 05652 will leave from Agartala every Sunday at 3 pm and arrive at Guwahati at 9:05 am on Mondays.

The train will start running from Guwahati on November 12 and from Agartala on November 13, said the NFR CPRO.

The 05944 Dibrugarh-Agartala weekly special will leave from Dibrugarh on Sundays at 10:30 pm and arrive at Agartala at 7 pm on Mondays. During return journey, the 05943 will leave from Agartala every Monday at 10 pm to arrive Dibrugarh at 7:20 pm on Tuesdays.

Services from Dibrugarh will start from November 20 and from Agartala from November 21.
