GUWAHATI, June 1 - Regular passenger train services throughout the Indian Railways restarted from today with the resumption of operations of 200 passenger trains.
In the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone, services of three trains � the 02067/02068 Guwahati-Jorhat Town Janshatabdi Express, the 05955 Dibrugarh-Delhi Brahmaputra Mail and the 05483 Alipurduar Junction-Delhi Mahananda Express � resumed today.
The 05646 Guwahati-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express will resume operations on June 3.
�These are fully reserved trains having both AC and non-AC classes. The general coaches have reserved sitting accommodation. These special train services are in addition to the existing Shramik Special trains being run since May 1 and the Passenger Special AC trains being run since May 12,� said Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NFR.
Only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets and wearing face covers were allowed to enter the railway stations and board the trains. Thermal scanning and hand sanitization of passengers were done at the station entrances.
�All the passengers were asked to strictly observe social distancing both at the stations and onboard the trains. Installation of Aarogya Setu App in passengers� mobiles was also checked. Door handles and foot stairs of all coaches were also sanitized on the spot before and after boarding of passengers. Onboard ticket checking staff, AC staff, onboard housekeeping staff as well as guards of the trains have been provided with all safety kits and protective gears, including gloves, face masks, face shields, sanitizers, soaps, small spray machines and thermal scanners,� said Chanda.
