NFR non-responsive to RTI applications

By Correspondent

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Jan 7 The Northeast Frontier Railway is accused of not responding to RTI applications filed by the public here. This was stated by Anuar Ali, an RTI activist of the town. Ali had filed two separate RTI applications to the Chief Engineer, Construction-5, NF Railway on November 8 and December 15 last year seeking information about the construction work of gauge conversion from North Lakhimpur to Lilabari on the North Lakhimpur-Murkongchelek route where many irregularities were alleged. However, the NF Railway has not responded to his application yet.

The RTI activist has alleged that the construction companies engaged in gauge conversion works on this portion have completed the works without fulfilling the standards and minutes of the railway authority.
