GUWAHATI, March 16 - Five stations under the NF Railway zone, including three in Assam, have been selected for development as part of a new project.

The five stations are Lumding, Tinsukia and Rangiya in Assam, besides Alipurduar in West Bengal and Katihar in Bihar.

�Divisional Railway Managers have been directed to appoint architectural consultants for preparation of overall plan... These works on the identified stations will be completed by December 2018 and the scope and quantum of work will be planned keeping the target in mind,� said an official statement.

Meanwhile, in another development, Rangiya station has become the first station of NF Railway to implement full automation of the Train Signal Register (TSR).

TSR is a document maintained by the Station Master where all records of passing trains, including time of entry to station limit, time of departure and all associated processes are recorded.
