NF Railway steps to ease Puja rush

GUWAHATI, Sept 6 - To meet the increasing demands for berths by passengers during the Durga Puja holidays, Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to run fourteen trips of the �Suvidha� weekly special train in the Kamakhya-Bangalore Cantonment-Bangalore route.

NF Railway Chief Public Relations Officer PJ Sharma said that the 02510 Suvidha weekly special train would leave from Kamakhya at 8.10 pm on October 13, October 20, October 27, November 3, November 10, November 17 and November 24.

During its return journey, the 02509 Suvidha weekly special train will leave from Bangalore Cantonment at 10.15 am on October 16, October 23, October 30, November 6, November 13, November 20 and November 27.

It will run via Goalpara town, New Jalpaiguri, Rampurhat, Howrah, Kharagpur, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada and Chennai Central.

Besides, there will be 16 trips of the Superfast Puja Special train in the Kamakhya-Pune-Kamakhya route.

The 02512 Superfast Puja Special will leave from Kamakhya at 11 pm on October 5, October 12, October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9, November 16 and November 23.

The 02511 Superfast Puja Special will leave from Pune Station at 10.30 am on October 8, October 15, October 22, October 29, November 5, November 12, November 19 and November 26.

The train will run via Goalpara town, New Jalpaiguri, Rampurhat, Asansol, Bilaspur, Nagpur, Nasik and Panvel.

Sharma said there would be six trips of puja special trains from Guwahati to Gorakhpur and another six trips from Gorakhpur to Guwahati.

The 05609 will leave Guwahati at 9 pm on October 16, October 23, October 30, November 6, November 13 and November 20.

During its return journey, the 05610 will leave Gorakhpur at 11.30 pm on October 17, October 24, October 31, November 7, November 14 and November 21.

The train will run via Goalpara town, New Coochbehar, Barsoi, Katihar, Hajipur and Siwan.

All the special trains will have AC 2 tier, AC 3 tier and sleeper class accommodation.

In addition, one additional 1st AC cum 2nd AC coach will be added on a permanent basis to the 15909/15910 Avadh Assam Express running between New Tinsukia and Lalgarh. The additional coach will be added with effect from September 7.
