GUWAHATI, April 13 - NF Railway stormed into the semifinals of the All India Railway Cricket Tournament.
In the two-day quarterfinal match, which ended at Kharagpur today, NF Railway defeated Northern Railway by virtue of their 111-run first innings lead.
NF Railway, after batting first yesterday, piled up 355 all out in 83.5 overs
Today the NF Railway forced their opponent to fold their innings at 244 in 51.3 overs. For the NF Railway outfit Sarupam Purkayastha top scored with 130 while Karan Sharma added 112. Kunal Saikia was the other notable contributor with 60.
Today, Abhilash Gogoi, Mura Singh and Arup Das were the leading wickets takers for the winning team bagging four, three and two wickets respectively. For Northern Railway Ashish (53) and Akash Yadav (52) were the leading scorers.
In the semifinal NF Railway will square off against RWF at the same venue on April 15 and 16, informed NF Railway sports officer and former Assam Ranji captain Rajesh Bora.
