GUWAHATI, Jan 30 � News Live will play against Asomiya Pratidin for the title in the Media Cricket Tournament.

In the second semifinal of the championship at the Judges� Field here today, News Live posted a six-wicket victory against Assam Tribune. Asked to bat first, Assam Tribune could score only 117 in the stipulated 20 overs losing nine wickets. Utpal Karmakar (34 off 22 balls), Ratul Deka (20 off 20 balls) and Amoresh Sinha (20 off 31 balls) were the notable contributors in the Assam Tribune innings as others failed to keep their cool on the wicket.

Making a hot chase, despite losing a wicket in the very first over, News Live reached the target in the 14.4 overs at the cost of four wickets. Anupam Mahanta (39 off 19 balls), Pranjal Sarma (28 off 23 balls) and Bhaskar Hazarika (24 off 25 balls) made the task easy for the winning team. Amoresh Sinha, Bubul Sinha and Lohit Gohain took one wicket each. The final is slated for February 1.
