GUWAHATI, Dec 31 � All the employees of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute will celebrate �New Year 2013� at a short function to be held in the auditorium of the Institute on January 1 at 11.45 am.
The programme will include distribution of sweets to the indoor patients, and release of �BBCI Calendar 2013� by Dr Lakhya Hira Das.
The event will witness the release of �Hospital Based Cancer Registry Report 2010-2011� by Paban Kumar Barthakur, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Finance, Government of Assam, according to BBCI sources.
The seventh issue of the quarterly bulletin - Sound Of Soul will be inaugurated by Dr Anjan Jyoti Chowdhury.
The Institute celebrated the last day of 2012, by cutting a cake with the patients staying in the Jironi Ghar of the Institute. A lottery was organized where all the inmates were given token gifts as a mark of respect and appreciation. The staff of BBCI prayed for good health and speedy recovery of the patients.
It may be noted that the employees of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute distributed blankets and eatables to the pavement dwellers of the city on December 24 as part of its commitment towards social responsibility.
