New pension scheme discussed

NALBARI, Dec 24 � The Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries, Assam organised a meeting to discuss the benefit of the new pension scheme introduced by the Central Government at Nalbari Girls High School today. The drawing and disbursing officers of Nalbari and Baksa districts took part in the discussion. The meeting was inaugurated by Nalbari Deputy Commissioner Lalit Gogoi.

In his speech, Gogoi called upon the drawing and disbursing officers to provide the benefit of new pension scheme introduced to the employees appointed after 2005. Addressing the meeting, the Director of Accounts and Treasuries NM Bora said that 50 per cent newly recruited employees in the State have been deprived of the new pension scheme due to the ignorance and negligence of the drawing and disbursing officers. He added that though the DDOs have been deducting the pension amount from the employees concerned, it was not deposited at the National Security Depository Limited (NSDL) due to non-submission of subscribers form. The meeting was addressed among others by Deven Sarma, treasury officer, Nalbari.
