New Kamakhya-Bengaluru premium train

GUWAHATI, Jan 29 � The Union Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, flagged off a new Premium Special Train service between Kamakhya and Bangalore Cantonment (number 22503/22504) through remote from Bengaluru this afternoon. At Kamakhya railway station, invited dignitaries, guests and others witnessed the flagging off at Bengaluru through video conferencing.

The inaugural train, which left Kamakhya at 2:30 pm, would run as a special train numbered 02504 and will have stoppages at New Jalpaiguri, Howrah, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada and Chennai Central. The regular train services, dates of which would be notified later, will leave Kamakhya at 8:30 pm and will reach Bangalore Cantonment at 9:15pm after a journey of 48 hours and 45 minutes.

The Premium Special Trains have some unique features. Tickets for the trains are available only through IRCTC website and all tickets are sold against confirmed reservation � there is no provision of issuing any wait-listed tickets in this train. The fares of the train are not fixed but dynamic and also include catering charges. There will be Sleeper Class, 3 Tier AC and 2 Tier AC accommodations in the train. Passengers can also book confirmed tickets (if available) through current ticket counters at stations even after preparation of the chart, said an NF Railway release.
