New Deputy Commissioner

HAILAKANDI, June 16 - Krishna Govinda Bhuya has taken over the charge of Deputy Commissioner in Hailakandi district on Tuesday. He has succeeded Moloy Bora. Bora has been posted as Secretary in the Department of Act East Policy and Industry and Commerce in Dispur. Bhuya, a 1986 batch of ACS is the 24th Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi. Hailakandi was declared a full-fledged district in 1989.

Moloy Bora was given farewell separately by the employees of the DC office and Hailakandi Municipal Board. The meeting in the DC office was addressed by the District Development Commissioner Arunava Dey, Additional Deputy Commissioners Amalendu Roy and Ruthlien, SP Pranabjyoti Goswami, Labour Officer Alim Uddin Barbhuiya, Additional SP Jagadish Das among others. They all narrated the developmental activities taken place in the district during the period of Bora. In the municipal office, the meeting was presided over by the ward commissioner Arun Das and was addressed by Hailakandi MLA Anwar Hussain Laskar, Kamrul Islam Barbhuiya of AGP, Subrata Nath of BJP among others. Bhuya in his address stressed the need of team work for the development of the district. He urged all sections of people to think for the development of the district. He reiterated the need to root out of corruption from all levels in government machineries and threatened to take action if corruption was found in government offices.
