New building of Chaparmukh police outpost opened

RAHA, April 7 - A policeman on duty at a public place can both burnish or tarnish the image of the entire force. Therefore, the police should develop a cordial relationship with the public, said Shankar Brata Raimedhi, Superintendent of Police, Nagaon, while inaugurating the new building of the Chaparmukh police outpost on Monday. He stressed that besides their official duties, policemen should involve themselves in social activities like blood donation, de-addiction camps, police-public meetings and sports activities, with the help of non-government organisations.

The SP further said that transparency in the functioning of the police is essential to win the faith of the public. He added that police should be impartial and sympathetic to the general public. Police should create confidence among the public by their good works and always prepare themselves to help the needy in the society.

Admitting and expressing deep concern over the increasing crimes in Nagaon district, the SP said that support of the public is necessary to take action against criminals.

The open meeting held on the occasion was attended by Shankar Das, former in-charge of the outpost and a few senior citizens of the locality as invited guests. Earlier, Banshidhar Kumar, in-charge, Chaparmukh police outpost welcomed the guests.

Apart from a large section of local people, Moloy Kumar Acharjee, OC, Raha PS, Amrit Konwar, in-charge, Amsoi police outpost were present in the programme.

The new building of the police outpost was constructed at a cost of about Rs 3.5 lakh. The new building is equipped with all facilities.
