By Correspondent

ITANAGAR April 18 - After the Chief Ministers Bungalow (which eventually turned into State guest house) and State Civil Secretariat, another big project, the State Legislatively Assembly Secretariat, is being readied for May launch!

Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Public Health Engineering & Water Supply Bamang Felix today visited the under-construction Assembly building to oversee the progress of the State asset.

During his inspection, Felix was assured by the executing agency (State PWD) that the building would be made functional by mid-May. He was accompanied by Commissioner of Parliamentary Affairs Department Bilatee Pertin and officers from departments of PHE & Water Supply, Power and PWD.

Making a round of the entire Assembly building and minutely checking the infrastructure, Felix, who is also the Government Spokesperson, categorically instructed the PWD and other line departments to ensure that the deadline was met.

Interacting with the officers, Felix said that the next (special) session of the Assembly for the ratification of GST Bill 2017 will be held in the new building by the third week of May, which is a mandatory exercise as directed by the Union government. He, therefore, asked all the stakeholders to tighten their belts for ensuring completion of the project in the stipulated time frame.

The Minister, however, expressed satisfaction over the progress of the work and informed that such inspection would be made by him at regular intervals to take stock of the progress.
