GUWAHATI, Dec 10 - With a view to ensuring systematic, seamless and expeditious implementation of various clauses of the Assam Accord, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated a new office of the Implementation of Assam Accord Department at Officers Training Institute, Khanapara here coinciding with the observation of Swahid Divas today.
Sonowal also opened a photo gallery which is set up reflecting various significant moments of the Assam Movement in the new office campus. Prior to this, the Chief Minister offered tribute to the martyrs of the movement.
The Chief Minister said, �Our government is fully committed to implement every clause of the Assam Accord. To facilitate people�s participation in its execution, the State government has set up this new office. It will be a people�s office commemorating the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Assam Movement and people across the State.�
Stating that effective implementation of all the clauses of the Assam Accord would ensure inclusive growth, he said the State government is following the ideals of great Ahom king Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha and working to ensure equal development for all.
