GUWAHATI, Aug 1: NorthEast United FC today terminated the contract of former Liverpool and Fulham player Tony Warner, who was announced as a player-cum-goalkeeping coach for the second edition of the Indian Super League football tournament. Without disclosing the ground for the termination, NEUFC in its website said the 41-year-old breached his standard players agreement.
NEUFC has exercised the teams right to terminate the contract of (Anthony Rudolph) Warner for material breach of his standard players agreement. Were not prepared to provide any more detail or to discuss the underlying grounds for the contract termination at this time, NEUFC said.
