IMPHAL, Dec 17 - Neroca Football Club cruised into the semifinals of the ongoing 59th Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE memorial All India Invitation Football tournament at the Mapal Kangjeibung ground here defeating TRUGPU Nambol 2-1 on Thursday.

In a competitive quarter final match, TRUGPU�s player Sh Meiraba Singh broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute. However after a gap of about 16 minutes, Neroca FC�s striker Ng Ronald drew parity. Minutes after the breather, O Emeka Christian scored the final and deciding goal for Neroca FC in the 48th minute.

In the earlier quarter final matches, Southern Sporting Union, Singjamei defeated North Imphal Sporting Association, Thangmeiband 2-0 on December 11 while Football Club Zalen in Senapati district beat another Imphal based club Sagolband United 5-4 via tie breaker on December 13.

The tournament is being organised by All Manipur Football Association from December 2 with active participation of 21 teams. The fourth quarter final match will be played between Assam State Electricity Board Sports Club, Guwahati and Football Club Zalen at 1.30pm tomorrow.
