NERIM celebrates 26th foundation day

GUWAHATI, March 6 - The NERIM Group of Institutions celebrated its 26th foundation day along with the closing ceremony of its silver jubilee year recently, a press release stated.

To commemorate the occasion, a formal meeting was held on its premises in the presence of chief guest, Prof Debdas Kakati, former Vice-Chancellor, Dibrugarh University. His speech marked the use of technology and its impact on the growth of higher education across the North East. He urged the students to be responsible citizens before being professionals.

Dr Rupam Saikia, Director, College Development Council, Dibrugarh University also graced the occasion as the guest of honour and advised the students to develop the rightful attitude in life. Banajit Ojha, PHRO, Bharati Airtel Ltd (NESA), special guest of the occasion, shared the expectations the industry from the students in terms of skills and knowledge. He acknowledged that the alumni of NERIM have been consistently performing well in various organizations of repute.

In her welcome speech, the Director, NERIM Group of Institutions, Prof (Dr) Sangeeta Tripathi highlighted the journey of NERIM, imparting quality education, that has resulted in the growth of the institution as a prominent educational destination as it stands today. She also shared the vision of the Chairman, Dr Zoii Nath Sarmah, the founder of NERIM Group of Institutions. The Registrar of the institution, Dr Mahesh Chandra Bhuyan encouraged the students with his inspiring words.

The second day of the celebrations commenced with a colorful socio-cultural rally carrying social messages on issues like dowry, cleanliness, hygiene etc. The rally was followed by a lively cultural programme performed by the students of the institution. The two- day celebrations came to a befitting close in the evening with a patriotic performance by the students.
