GUWAHATI, Feb 22 � The first Inter Engineering NEFTi TT and Badminton Championship, organised by the North East Forum for Technical Institutions(NEFTi) at Royal Group of Institutions (RGI) on February 20 and 21 ended successfully.
Altogether 12 AICTE approved engineering colleges -NITS Mirza, GIMT, Donbosco College of Engineering, Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Assam Down Town University, Assam Engineering College, Royal College of Engineering, Tezpur University, Gauhati University and Scholars Institute of Technology and Management participated in the two-day tournament.
In the singles category of badminton Sudeepta Chaudhury of RGI became champion in girls event while Visha Borkotoky of GIMT became champion in boys singles event. In the team event Sudeepta Chaudhury and Parbati Gohain Baruah of RGI lifted the girls trophy while Biraj Baruah and Himanku Saikia of Donbosco University lifted the boys trophy. In Table Tennis Arindom Bora of RGI lifted the singles trophy while Sasanka Gogoi and Rituraj Debnath of GIMT Tezpur lifted the doubles trophy. Masoom Nasiha Hussain of Gauhati University lifted the girls singles trophy and Saheen Sara Begum and Aditi Nunisa of RGI became winner in team event.
After the tournament Dr Mukulesh Baruah, Director, Royal Group of Institutions and Devajit Bhuyan, General Secretary, NEFTi gave away the prizes, a release said.
