GUWAHATI, March 24 � Royal College of Engineering, Assam Engineering College, GIMT and Tezpur University reached the second stage of 3rd NEFTi T20 Cricket Tournament organized by North East Forum for Technical Institutions (NEFTi) at NITS Mirza playground today.

Ten AICTE approved institutions namely � NITS Mirza, GIMT, Donbosco College of Engineering, Regional Institute of Science and Technology(RIST), Assam Down Town University, Assam Engineering College, Royal College of Engineering and Scholars Institute of Technology & Management, Tezpur University and IST, Gauhati University � are participating in the tournament.

Royal College of Engineering defeated RIST, Meghalaya while defending champion of the last two years, Assam Engineering College defeated Assam Down Town University. GIMT defeated Assam Donbosco University and Tezpur University defeated NITS Mirza to reach the second stage of the tournament.

Earlier, Devajit Bhuyan, general secretary, NEFTi officially inaugurated the tournament, stated a press release.
