SHILLONG, Nov 12 � Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region Jitendra Singh has convened the 63rd North Eastern Council (NEC) Plenary meeting at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on November 19.
Singh, who is the Ex-officio chairman of NEC, agreed to convene the meeting in which the Governors and Chief Ministers of NE States are scheduled to attend. During the meeting, discussions would be held on the various developmental activities taken up in the NE by different Union Ministries and Government organisations.
These would include discussions on the Union Ministries of Railways, Road Transport and Highways, Civil Aviation, Shipping (Waterways), Power, Communication and Information Technology and others. The Annual Plan and the Gross Budgetary Support of the NEC will also be discussed during the meeting, officials said.
