NEC official reviews developmental schemes in Goalpara

GOALPARA, Dec 5 - Senior NEC official Gaigongdin Panmei visited Goalpara district recently to review and monitor the progress and performance of various development programmes and social initiatives.

Talking to this correspondent Gaigonngdin Panmei while hailing the efforts put in by the district administration said that Goalpara which is one of 115 aspirational districts of the country is performing well in overall development parameters while other districts are struggling in these areas.

Expressing his satisfaction over the innovative schemes introduced by the district administration after undertaking field visits to various project sites, Panmei said that these models and especially the anganwadi model centre at Budhipara should be replicated elsewhere so that children are benefited by early child care and education in the district.

Reviewing the progress, the NEC official said that the district has the capability of becoming the role model by developing vertically as well horizontally in all the development spheres ranging from health, education, agriculture, environment, financial inclusion, basic infrastructure etc among all the 115 aspirational districts of the country.

Meanwhile, talking to this correspondent, Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka said that a meeting was held in the presence of other senior officials of the district administration with Gaigongdin Panmei for reviewing the status of implementation of various development projects in the district. She informed that discussions were mainly carried out on common issues, challenges and thrust areas of the aspirational district of Goalpara where a detailed power point presentation was given for various development programmes implemented in the district.
