MORIGAON, Jan 17 � The North East Zone edition of the 69th Senior National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy will kick-start at the Khirod Baruah Stadium here tomorrow.

Altogether seven States of this region will contest for qualifying from this region. The teams are divided into two groups. In group-A, host Assam is clubbed with Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland while in group B-Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya will play against each other.

Top two teams of each group will qualify for the next round to be played at Jharkhand.

In the opening match at 9.30 am, Nagaland will play against Meghalaya while in the afternoon at 1.30 pm Assam is scheduled to play against Arunachal Pradesh.

State Sports Minister Ajit Singh will inaugurate the championship at 1 pm.
