NE Women Entrepreneur awards presented

GUWAHATI, Sept 19 - The second Vasundhara NE Woman Entrepreneur of the year (2013-14) award was conferred upon Moirengthem Muktamani Devi of Manipur at a function at IIM Shillong today.

The award which was instituted by Sreemanta Sankar Mission of Guwahati was conferred on Devi by M Rajeshwar Rao, Chief General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai during the ongoing annual management conclave of IIM Shillong called EmergE 2015.

Eight State winners from eight States of the North East were honoured at the event. Those who won State awards are Lata Lepcha from Sikkim, Toko Likha Yaram from Arunachal Pradesh, T Jemima Achumi from Nagaland, Moirengthem Muktamani Devi from Manipur (also the title winner), Lalhimpuii Hmar (Lapuii) from Mizoram, Sukla Rani Debbarma from Tripura, Queency Thangkhiew from Meghalaya and Kanta Dey from Assam.

The State winners were awarded with cash incentive of Rs 10,000, trophy, plaque, citation and Eri shawl each.

Devi, the title winner from Manipur, who is into the business of manufacturing woolen knitted shoes and exports her products to UK, Australia and Korea, besides supplying regularly to Defence forces was given a cash award of Rs 25,000 along with the winner�s trophy, a plaque, a citation and an Eri shawl.
