NE team for nat�l sport climbing

IMPHAL, Dec 8 - A 29-member team including two climbers from Assam will represent the North East team in the 22nd National Sport Climbing Championship to be held from December 17 to 20 at Bengaluru.

The North East Zone Sport Climbing Committee has formally announced the names of the participants along with the coach and manager after a four-day North East Zone Sport Climbing Competition which was held under the aegis of Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) and Manipur Sport Climbing Association at the Kangla Rock Wall Minuthong in Imphal recently. The competition was successfully held with the financial assistance from NEZSCC and 9 Sector Assam Rifles with active participation of 118 climbers from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and host Manipur. The selected climbers are presently undergoing an intensive training schedule in Imphal and will leave for Bengaluru on December 12. They will compete in three events � Speed, Lead and Bouldering during the National Sport Climbing Championship.

The selected climbers: Kangujam Surjit, N Rishikesh, Md Sohail Nawaz Khan, M Chingkheinganba, Md Menaishim Maring, Th Boinao, Bikash Okram,Y Mangal, S Debala, Thaja Seram, Sulina Ningombam, Mediya Kangujam, K Yoihenbi (Manipur); Isaak Vanlelpeka, C Lalruatfela, Lalrinmawii, Lallawmawmi, Thelma Laldinthari (Mizoram); Akash Natta, Papiya Saha, Shibani Munda (Tripura); Imnatoshi Pongen, Hengouhao (Nagaland); Janaki Devi, Mousumi Das (Assam); Demu Pulu, Pisa Yagu (Arunachal Pradesh); Verisha Maring (Meghalaya) and Lakpa Tendup Bhutia (Sikkim).
