NE students to get unique opportunity

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, May 1 Students are always at the crossroads of their career right after the Class 12th exams or after their graduation exams as to what career to choose and whether they will be best suited for that.

They usually suffer from various pressures on choosing a particular career without knowing whether they have the ability or liking for that particular career course or not.

Now, students from the North-east will have a unique opportunity at the upcoming AssamTribuneEduFair10to have answer to this. For the first time in the region, students got the opportunity to appear for Psychometric and Cognitive Tests in Edufair 09 last year. Students will have another opportunity this year again to appear for these tests right here in Guwahati at the EduFair 2010 venue.

Thiscareer assessment will helpstudents to understand theirabilities, interests, personality traits, etc.which will enable them to makean informed careerchoice, informed Sangeeta Goswami, Counselling Psychologist, MINDIndia.

Students will also get individual personalised career counselling for choosing the best career path suited for them, said Goswami.

Dr DD Mali, founder director of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati said, This is a rare opportunity and should not be missed by a single student of the North-east. The Assam Tribune Group has provided this fantastic opportunity and it will immensely benefit the students in taking suitable decision in their careers.

Students from the North-east do not get proper exposure as compared to students from other parts of the country, and also remain confused whether they want to study medical or engineering, management or commerce, etc. This test will give them the opportunity to clear all doubts and therefore every student should appear for this test, said Sanjay Singh, Regional Director of Acharya Institutes, Bangalore.

It may be mentioned here that the Assam Tribune Edufair10 will exhibit more than 100 reputed colleges and universities from the country and abroad and will be held in Guwahati on May 11 and 12. The EduFair will also be held in Shillong (May 14-15), Silchar (May 17-18) and Dibrugarh (May 21-22).

Students can register their name at the venue on the days of the fair or call 0361- 2667269 or 98645-00658 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pmfor further details.
