IMPHAL, Oct 26 - Manipur is all set to host the North East Zone Inter-State Badminton Championship from October 28 to 31 in Imphal. Altogether 140 players including 35 men, 30 women, 5 each of boys and girls besides 19 officials representing eight NE States including Sikkim will participate in the upcoming championships, according to organizing secretary N Shyamkumar Singh who is also the joint secretary of the Manipur Badminton Association (MBA).

Speaking to media this afternoon, Shyamkumar said the 11-member Mizoram and 10-member Tripura badminton teams have already arrived in the town while the remaining teams will be arriving by Tuesday afternoon. Among the teams, host Manipur (23) has the maximum number of players and officials followed by Assam (22), Nagaland (20), Arunachal Pradesh (19), Sikkim (18) and Meghalaya (17).
